Anathallo Acres is inspired by the greek word Anathallo, which means “to flourish anew” or “grow-green again” – a process we aim to create with each new day, season, year, and generation. Each of the animals raised at Anathallo play a vital role in helping the farm “flourish anew” by adding nutrients back into the soil and building the organic matter on the farm.

Anathallo Acres pork is modeled after Joel Salatin’s “pigearator pork” model in that we use them to roto-till our compost stored in the barn and barnyard. We raise our Berkshire hogs with the ability to root around and play in the mud, and all the while, we feed them a non-gmo feed that is supplemented by leftover breads from Reunion Bakery.
